Kirsten Ritchie Walker draws a pastel portrait of two terriers. The basic inital sketch of the dog on the right is first protected by a sheet of paper. Kirsten then begins working in detail, and continues through to completion of the final work. Several photographs are used for reference.

This commission is worked from clear photographs provided by the client, one of which was reversed to allow for a more pleasing composition. The tones of the cat change from brown to grey, depending on the light conditions, as is shown in the images provided for the portait.
