The song is about the Chilean folk singer Victor Jara, who was brutally murdered by Pinochet's fascist regime in Chile.

'Victor Jara' was written by the American folk singer Arlo Guthrie (son of the legendary Woody Guthrie, who wrote 'This Land Is Your Land')

The Commemoration took place on Wednesday, March 7th, 2007. Commemoration addressed by Commandante Giovanni Pesce, veteran of the International Brigades in Spain and Partisan leader in Italy.
